IMMO – Immobiliser or immobilizer is an electronic security device fitted to a motor vehicle that prevents the engine from running unless the correct key (transponder or smart key) is present. It is developed on the basis of general VATS, and inherits the idea of VATS in the anti-theft principle, that is, the code of the chip in the key is matched with the code in the starting switch to control the starting of the engine to achieve the purpose of anti-theft. This prevents the vehicle from being “hot wired” after entry has been achieved and thus reduces motor vehicle theft.
