Equipment Needed:
- Detroit DiagnosticLink 8.19 software
- Graduated cylinder from DEF kit W060589001900
- New doser bolts and gasket
Procedure:
- Prepare the Vehicle:
- Remove the vehicle side fairing to access the dosing unit.
- Remove the DEF Dosing Unit:
- Remove the three bolts securing the DEF dosing unit to the mounting plate. Discard these bolts.
- Do not disconnect the DEF lines or the electrical connector.
- Set Up Measurement:
- Place the dosing unit on top of the graduated cylinder with the nozzle facing downward into the cylinder.
- Initiate the Test:
- Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
- Connect to DiagnosticLink®.
- From the “Actions” drop-down menu, select “Aftertreatment,” then “DEF Quantity Test.”
- Click the “Start” button to begin the “DEF Quantity Test.”
- Conduct the Test:
- The test will run for four minutes.
- Once the test is complete, verify the amount of DEF dispensed.

- A properly operating system should deliver between 108 and 132 mL of DEF during the test.
